ELECTRO - Clouds has been making huge waves ever since Tiga dragged him out of his previous job at a fast food restaurant. He has a very unique sound that only a few producers seem to be in to at the moment such as Ado and Modek.
PARTY BEATS - Aussie legend Nick Thayer is leading the charge for these super cool party style jams. No matter what style of music you're in to, it is impossible not to have a smile ear to ear on the dancefloor with these beats blasting out of the speakers.
Mega Bonus - Soon to be superstar, Thrusher recently whipped this mix up for the radio show 'Mix For Next Generation Dj's' on Novanation. As you would expect he used all of the above genres and melted them together and added a healthy dose of moombahton for good measure. Flawless victory!!
Its so good to hear some fresh beats from Foamo cause it had honestly been way too long between tracks. I guess he must of just locked himself in his studio and went to town. The last few he has released have been in kind of a different direction to his earlier stuff but I'm really feeling it.
My boy Thrusher took it upon himself to remix Celestial. Love the fact that he kept a lot of the percussion throughout the track but as per usual he tweaked the hell out of it for a much more aggresive version than the original.
This isn't de`javu. I know Lucas posted all the previews to this massive single by Peking Duk a couple of weeks ago. It came with some amazing remixes and you can check them out again here in case you missed them earlier. Alright now to the point of this post, Thrusher took it upon himself to whip a dubstep remix of Bingo Trippin' and its fucking banging! Right out of the gates he uses the coolest bassline seen this side Surry Hills and a drop that will have you free falling for days. Mega props buddy!!
'WARNING - This track contains ground breaking bass, therefore must be played extremely loud.'
If you've been following Smidgem for a while then you also would of been following the progress of Lucas Wilkinson aka Thrusher. He's latest work of art falls in to the electro genre but he also draws some of his dubstep influences too. There are a bunch of awesome samples he used throughout the whole track too that really got me hooked. If you dig this sound make sure you check out the rest of his tracks on soundcloud.
Brand new stuff from the one and only Thrusher. After banging out a couple of dubstep tracks Lucas decided to get back in to the electro world and rework Jack Beats latest single 'All Night'.
This one is HUGE to say the least! The bassline is so grimey and seems to grow throughout the whole track. Cant wait to play this one out!!
Thrusher delivers 'the motherfucking sound' with this latest dubstep destroyer. I honestly didnt think it was possible to fit so much noise and so many sounds in to one track. They all seem to roll off one another so well and the first drop is worth its weight in gold. Easily my favourite dub track right now so take my advice and play this as loud as possible!!
Smidgem's very own Thrusher (aka Lucas Wilkinson) has taken out Chemical Jump's remix competition for Gtronics 'Sucker Punch'. After first hearing his remix there was no doubt in my mind that he would make the finals but to win... WOW. Well done mate, you actually killed it!!
You can also check out the other finalists on Chemical Jump. All up they had 47 entries so for Lucas to take it out was really cool.
Also check out his latest original that he just finished. The intro for it so creepy then it drops in to this monster of a dubstep destroyer. The second drop is next level.
Unbeknown to most readers the writers here at Smidgem also lead a double life as DJs, which when you think about it makes a lot of sense and is probably more obvious than Clark Kent when he takes off his glasses. This mix is hot off the press and mixed by Smidgem's very own writers Lucas(Thrusher) and Fin (Rampant). It's an hour of non-stop noise that would be a perfect soundtrack to any night out. This mix spans the genres of electronic music, going through Dubstep, Rave, Brostep and Thrash. This mix is super fun, super loud and has the potential to make you 'loose your shit' harder than you ever thought possible. Despite it's shit loosing qualities it's guaranteed loads of fun so if you like to party (and I know I do) this is for you...

So stoked to be introducing you to Smidgem writer and founder Thrusher (aka Lucas Wilkinson) He has been sending me at least two new tracks/remixes every week now for the last few months. My response every time is basically the same 'mate that is really fucking good hey, I cant wait to play this out.'
Thrusher has been playing around with all genres from house to electro and most recently dubstep. His latest remix he compiles all these in to one massive party tune which could easily be mistaken for a Skrillex remix. BOOOOM!
The build and angry bassline will have you singing 'keep it coming' in no time. Thrusher only really started producing no more than a year ago and to have this original under his belt, wow. Imagine the beats that will be coming in the not to distant future.
Here's is his first shot at dubstep. Its a super fun and easily listening sample he used here that soon grows in to a squelchy electronic monster. Very addictive!
Yeah so be sure to head on over to his soundcloud page to keep up to date with all the latest and greatest and I'm sure he would love to hear some feeback.
Hello loyal readers. Sorry for the lack of posts over the last couple of days, I've been very busy drinking myself into an early grave however I have some great new stuff one the way so stay tuned. First up I thought I would upload a little edit I did with some downtime I've had recently. I've always liked the Smashing Pumpkins particularly their song Zero and about a year ago I stumbled across a nice re-working that American producer Le Castle Vania did which he called Zero Machine. I came to the conclusion one day that it would sound totally rad with some baile funk style drums behind it. So I did exactly that and chopped it up a a little in the process. Enjoi!
