Sydney

Now I thought I would take some time out to talk about some Sydney producers who are cracking the scene at the moment. The first of which is a fella who apparently originates form the Gold Coast but now resides in Sydney who goes under the guise of Blaze Tripp. According to his Soundcloud he describes his music as being "expeimental bassline stuff, but it's always guaranteed to be bangin'" and "bangin'" it is. I'm really loving this remix he has done of The Chemical Brothers new single 'Swoon'.

This collab with fellow Sydney artist Redial is also noteworthy.

He's also just completed a remix for Smidgem favourite The Living Graham Bond of his new single Winter  Hunter.

Winter Hunter is out now of Fat! Records available at all the usual suspects.

Now onto a couple of Sydneysiders making waves in the Nu-Disco scene. Softwar have been making some really great laid-back tunes that are a very welcome breath of fresh air in these bass-heavy times. Jeremy Lloyd and Myles Du Chateau teamed up in the 'whirlwind' summer of 2007 to make music that can only be described as a rich tapestry of airy pad synths, funky basslines and an end product that just leaves you feeling better inside. This remix they did for UK band 2 Door Cinema Club has all of the above.

Jeremy also sent over this original which is equally as good.

Softwar - Tunnel Vision

Softwar have some big things in the works including a remix for Electronic music legends Groove Armada. The guys play around Sydney non-stop and you can catch them at the legendary Slow-Blow parties so keep your ear to the ground.
