Hailing from Byron Bay, Sammy K has been producing and playing since 2005. He sent me this one last week and I've found myself listening to it at least once a day, so damn addictive. The bassline is infectious. It was just picked up by Frontzide Records, not sure of the release date yet but stay tuned to his page for more info. Be sure to check out his soundcloud too as there is load more tracks along these lines.
Rynecologist definitely knows how to make an insane mixtape. This is now the third one I have and i still listen to his first two on the reg. The comedian he has talking throughout this one is so dope, not to mention funny! Plus the second track is also one of my all time favourite tunes and has been since i first heard it (maybe 6 years ago?). The man is now signed to Boys Noize Records and has been releasing some huge originals and some jaw dropping remixes.
Dirtyphonics consist of four crazy frenchman. Playing live they have a reputation for ruckus inducing tracks with heart-stopping capabilities. This is there new mixtape i suggest you get on it.
This mixtape compiled by Anna Lunoe just popped up on the Parklife Blog. This being a huge coincidence as I was just thinking about doing a post on all my favourite artists that will be playing at this years festival. It almost seems pointless now...
It's one thing to empathize with at-risk kids, or to speak up for them generally, but Skrillex takes it a step further -- and then further still -- in this stunning new video for the track "First of the Year (Equinox)."
On his More Monsters and Sprites EP, "First of the Year" begins with a fairly amiable, reggae-tinged stroll and squeakily pitched vocal, then shifts into a sprightly electro-house keyboard melody before a dubstep code-red breakdown explodes.
But in this clip, the song's melodic preamble also serves as an ominous backdrop for a creepy, would-be predator who's lurking outside a playground where young children are playing. The day is overcast, but something much darker is in the air, as a little girl leaves and the man walks after her. When she unexpectedly skips off to a dark, abandoned warehouse, he continues to follow, eventually entering a room where she's standing alone, holding a telephone receiver. The keyboards suddenly fade into a glitchier groove, and then, at the 1:25 mark, well, you gotta see for yourself.
Let's just say, this isn't your ordinary tyke.
Yeah yeah I know its been a long time since i did one of these posts so lets just get straight in to it. All but one of these tracks are dubstep, didnt plan on it happening that way. These are just the tracks that i feel will get you through the weekend..
Ahhh fuck yeah this definitly just made my day! Unless you've been living under a rock, you will know that no one makes a finer mixtape than Australias number one Dj, Ajax. After only listening to the first 30 seconds its easy to tell that this one is no exception. He must of raided the vaults because there is so much old gold mixed with all the latest and greatest.
