Party Songs

Continuing with this inundation of tracks marking Smidgem hitting 1000 fans on Facebook, I've unearthed some awesome party starting tunes for ya'll to download. I came across the Mightyfools mix on Soundcloud dashboard, needless to say this is typical Mightyfools goodness and it's a Rod Stewart remix so you know it'll get the party started.

Rod Stewart - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy (Mightyfools Remix)

Underneath the track on Souncloud was a link provided by Tommie Sunshine's Brooklyn Fire label that contained a bunch of awesome bootlegs and edits of popular songs which you can get here. This one was my favourite.

Spiller - Groovejet (Ghosts Of Venice Edit)

Also came across this one by Barletta. He turns this into a monster with just enough of the original to have your average joe schmo frothing for a shuffle.

LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (Barletta Bootleg)

Skrillex - More Monsters & Sprites

So it's here, Skrillex's third release and it's an effin' good one! A few of these tracks have been floating around for a while in various forms like 'First Of The Year (Equinox)' and the Dirtyphonics remix of Scary Monsters. I'm really diggin' the vibes on 'Ruffneck FULL Flex' and the Kaskade remix of Scary Monsters, which makes no sense yet so much sense at the same time. Here's a few tracks from the EP, however the whole thing is fuckin' massive and it's out today on Beatport so go pick it up.

Killing In The Name Of

17 year old Dubstep producer Davr from Umeå, Sweden is known for blasting out hard hitting aggressive Dubstep tunes. With several releases out on labels like Play Me Too, Filthy Digital, Tuff Love Dubs & Dub Cartel, Davr is a producer to watch out for.
After he had heard the dark heavy sounds of dubstep in late 2008 he decided to try and make it himself and has since then made his mark on the dubstep scene. His tunes are currently getting support from well known artists and djs like Ajapai, Mark Instinct, Subvert, Total Recall, Hulk, Sinister Souls, Dodger, Reid Speed and many others.

This remix is proper good!!!

Track Whores?

When I'm on the hunt for new tunes and find that perfect track that simultaneously makes me smile, sit up in my seat and turn the volume up to ten, I always think 'this must be a how a junkie feels when they score'. I know I'm not the only one who thinks like this too.... so what does that make us. Music junkies? Track whores? Beat addicts?

Anyway I found these two tracks today that gave me this exact feeling.

Tatu - Not Gonna Get Us (Liquid Stranger VIP)

Foreign Beggars feat. Skrillex - Still Getting It

Porter Robinson

Unlikely doesn't even begin to describe Porter Robinson's rapid ascent to the forefront of the world of dance music. Hailing from North Carolina, 18-year-old Porter Robinson had never set foot in a club when his smash hit "Say My Name" shot to number one on Beatport's Electro-House chart, making people do just that on dancefloors and DJ booths across the globe. Complex yet catchy, and classic yet cutting edge, Porter Robinson's instantly recognizable sound has earned him the raving support of legendary producers such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, The Crystal Method and Armand Van Helden, and landed him shows across the globe – all before he has even had the chance to finish high school. Porter will be touring Australia soon through Vamp Music and The Music People so keep your ears to the ground. You dont want to miss this guy!

Audio Addict

I just stumbled upon these couple of mixtapes by Audio Addict. They are a little different to usual as they are basically a tribute to his heros, he just uses all of their tracks and remixes. The thing that doesnt make this whole concept lame is that he chose to use 2 industry leaders such as Skream and Liquid Stranger.

So we just reached 1000 friends on Facebook. I really cant think of a better way to thank all of our supporters (yeah that's you) than giving away a whole bunch of awesome tunes. There will be a few goodies coming in the next day or so to help celebrate this little milestone. So watch this space..

Dubstep track of the year gets retouched in all the right places.

Take my word for it and download this. I was completely blown away!

Subvert is up to his usual tricks again being the master of breathing new life in to the oldies. This time he dubs out some emo.

This is what Excision opened his Shambala mixtape from last year with.

Peking Duk - Bingo Trippin' (Thrusher remix)

This isn't de`javu. I know Lucas posted all the previews to this massive single by Peking Duk a couple of weeks ago. It came with some amazing remixes and you can check them out again here in case you missed them earlier. Alright now to the point of this post, Thrusher took it upon himself to whip a dubstep remix of Bingo Trippin' and its fucking banging! Right out of the gates he uses the coolest bassline seen this side Surry Hills and a drop that will have you free falling for days. Mega props buddy!!
