This October long weekend marks the first in a series of 'Awesome' releases from the HOUSE OF FUN label... and to Celebrate they're hosting a POST PARKLIFE KICK-ON PARTY! Celebrate in style, and leave in shreds.
STARFUCKER DJs and Narrator lead an all-star line up including Ruslan, Trelz, La Dooda, Error and Mon Ami Fresh Meat DJ OH BOY as HOUSE OF FUN launch Narrator's single 'Awesome' featuring Epic remixes from STARFUCKERS, La Dooda, LKiD and Stupid Fresh (UK).
The HOUSE OF FUN label has become greater than the sum of it's parts of late, which speaks volumes when its parts consist of deck veterans STARFUCKER DJs and hot up-and-coming producers like 'Narrator'. You'll be able to buy his single online, or he might give you a free one if you suck him off.
If you missed Narrator's guestmix he did for us a few weeks ago, you can pick it up here. It comes complete with a MASSIVE bootleg pack that he is giving away for free. Dont miss this one!!!
Smidgem's regular party starter Jim Junkie has done it again with this fuckin' dope new mixtape. As always it's packed to the brim with bangers of every genre and mixed to perfection. As we say all too often here at Smidgem, 'get on this one', you'll definitely thank me for it.

Error are the latest group to come out of Australia's newest breeding ground for producers and DJs aka Wollongong. Consisting of La Dooda and Trelz, the boys have only been mixing and producing together for a few months and already have a tonne of insane party mashups that will have the girls whipping thier hair back and foward in no time.
I only just got a hold of this mixtape yesterday and is has been on serious repeat.. Super fun party style jams and mashups. I highly recommend downloading this now!
One of Smidgem's regular heavy hitters Hydraulix sent this insane dubstep mixtape through last week. Its got the gold on it that you all love to hear and some fresh remixes and edits from Hydraulix himself. If you love your dub then make sure you head along to the opening night of Boss Bass at Chinese Laundry on the 7th October. If this mix is anything to gauge off, I recommend getting in there early before the crew blow the roof off! Be sure to like the Boss Bass page to stay up to date with all future events.
I can't get my head around how awesome this track is. It's big, it's tight, it's clean, it's dirty, it makes me laugh & it gets me in to mood for good times.
Super airy chords, sustained female vocal hits & tight kick & snare set the mood of the into. Muching in at 28 seconds, is a wacked out delayed synth line, consisting of a messy hoover top layer & clean sine low end.
My fav parts is at 1:49. Tight kick & snare, vocal stabs & an epic clean sub baseline.
Found this on the new moombah soul comp. Was by far my favorite of the bunch.
Great melody & very well produced.
Trading in his dirty birds for squealing monkeys, Claude has come up with a awesome kick, sub & flaw tom groove in chimps. I wasn't the biggest fan of the grungy synth the comes in until I saw this video ;)
Fresh from his new album & soon to visit our shores, Jan Drive has been making some amazing tunes. From his epic 'Gain Reaction' (check Dillon Francis' opener @ this years Mad Decent Block Party) to the bigroom funky sounds of golden super.
Rusko - Cockney Thug (Chong Remix) There's a heap of these 'dub/moombah edits' going round, but Chong's is solid. keeping all the intensity & bass of the original with a moombah groove.
ELECTRO - Clouds has been making huge waves ever since Tiga dragged him out of his previous job at a fast food restaurant. He has a very unique sound that only a few producers seem to be in to at the moment such as Ado and Modek.
PARTY BEATS - Aussie legend Nick Thayer is leading the charge for these super cool party style jams. No matter what style of music you're in to, it is impossible not to have a smile ear to ear on the dancefloor with these beats blasting out of the speakers.
Mega Bonus - Soon to be superstar, Thrusher recently whipped this mix up for the radio show 'Mix For Next Generation Dj's' on Novanation. As you would expect he used all of the above genres and melted them together and added a healthy dose of moombahton for good measure. Flawless victory!!
Having a bit of a Youtube session the other night, I found myself browsing through some drum solos. At first I was just watching your typical Metal band drummer having a little thrash about during a show, but what happened next blew my mind!
Some of you out there may have seen this already, but for those who haven't ,you have to check this out!!!!!!!!!!
And finally a drumming throwback. Remember this kid???? Well as it turns out Tony Royster Junior is now the drummer for Jay-Zs live show!!!
Don't believe me?? Here he is all grown up playing Jay-Z's epic PSA (Public Service Announcment).....Killing it......Clearly!

VNNR is the latest addition to the Lektroluv label roster. ‘What!?’ is most probably the reaction you’ll get from clubbers and fellow DJ’s when you put this monster on the decks. Burner alert! head on over to BEATPORT for the full EP release..
Mylo's classic summer anthem gets reworked by breaks legends Deekline and Ed Solo. The boys called in two Aussie producers for remix duties. One being Smidgem regulars Trumpdisco and Northie. Both hit the nail on the head!! Im sure this will be getting the play it deserves at all of the upcoming summer festivals..

Hailing from Byron Bay, Sammy K has been producing and playing since 2005. He sent me this one last week and I've found myself listening to it at least once a day, so damn addictive. The bassline is infectious. It was just picked up by Frontzide Records, not sure of the release date yet but stay tuned to his page for more info. Be sure to check out his soundcloud too as there is load more tracks along these lines.
Finally!!!!!! Tiga and Zombie Nation have kept this close to their chests for almost a year now. After hearing Tiga premier the original cut on a 2manydjs radio show in November last year, I knew the electronic music world would be salivating for a release date. And finally after months of patience, it has arrived. Featuring remixes from Jan Driver, Proxy and Perc.
Bleepy,
I cant give any of these away.Go and buy this NOW.!!!!
