Will Bailey and Figure - Bass Powa

Smidgem regular and master of the bassline Figure teamed up with electro heavyweight Will Bailey to bring some of the freshest 'dubstep' (that's not a typo) I've heard in ages. The change up that comes halfway through is simply amazing and so addictive. Found this on repeat a few times today! The best thing bout this one is Figure is giving it out for free download on his soundcloud. So get on it asap!!

Dooze Jackers Konani EP

Montreal outfit Dooze Jackers first came onto my radar with their song 'Euh!' a collaboration with New York native Wes De Graaf. This teaser for their upcoming EP 'Konani' just popped up on my Soundcloud and by the way this teaser plays out the EP is going to be huge. Expect thumping kick drums and evil synths. My personal favourite would be the Wes De Graaf remix...it packs a serious punch, an honourable mention also goes to the Will Bailey and Punk Rolla remix too.

No release date as yet, however I recommend following them on Soundcloud so you can stay in the loop.

The Soundcloud Roundup #2

So I delved deep into the world of Soundcloud again. Read below, awesomeness ensues.

First up is a tune by Sydneysider Caleb Crinis working under the guise of Narrator. Judging by the tunes on his page this guy is set for big things. A lot of funky stuff which is also very unique. This one is probably my favourite out of the bunch however there's some other gold on his page and it's well worth checking out. His track Move Yo Feet can also be found in Beat The Weekend Pt. 7.

UK natives Zombie Disco Squad have a plethora of his in today's dance music scene and this one is no exception. Nice drums and just straight up funk-eh.

If you don't already know Daft Punk have done a new track for the upcoming release of Tron Legacy. The original is pretty cool, however L.A based brothers Matt & Josh David or Breakdown have made it pretty cooler. The production level on this is insane, it's just great to listen to.

I mentioned in a recent post the release of Bart B More and Tommie Sunshines 'Drop Acid' and the great job Figure did remixing it. Well I have to say Will Bailey has done just as good if not better with this one.

I heard this one a while ago but it's still dope. Great little number by LA Riots tuba sample and all.

Canadian producer Barletta caused a bit of a stir a while back with his amzing bootlegs of mainstream pop songs. He's made a foray into Dubstep with this one and has definitely succeded.

That's all folks....until next time!

Beat The Weekend.. part 2

As promised here is part two of the weekly series..

The rave anthem of the deacade gets a rework by The Only. They keep this edit nice and simple

When i think Will Bailey i usually think dutch house. However with this track he has definitly changed my perception of him with the long build up that seems to keep stepping up throughout the whole track. Kinda reminds me of Bart B More's 'Brap'
Will Bailey - Grind (Original Mix)

Ive been meaning to post these two tracks for weeks now. They're easily among of my favourite tracks to play in a set. High energy electro at its best!

The best track ive heard form Herve in a long time. Mad piano stabs, awesome vocals and the ghetto bassline that he does so well.
Herve - Together

And of course you cant beat the weekend without some dirty dubstep. This will mos def blow your speakers!
