Moombah Tools for Tools

Sorry again for my extended absence!
Shiz was going all over the place with the WSN EP, Lost a years worth or tunes & edits from a hard drive crash and was super busy over the silly season!

Today I have for you a bunch of edits I've been using for the last couple months. Some of them simple, some of them complex & some of them not even mine!
But this post is all about sharing Moombah love & making Moombah tunes more accessible to the 128bpm Dj (& crowds)

108 - 128BPM
Fix Up Galactic (Emoh Instead Edit) - 2manydjs, Beastie Boys, Dizze Rascle, Herbie, Inxs, Skeet Skeet
Big credit to 2manydjs. I remade something I heard of theirs (that I couldn't find anywhere) & added more samples & fun stuff.

110 - 128BPM
Hollaback Girl (Emoh Instead Edit) - Gwen Stefani Vs R3hab
I usually loop the vocal for a couple bars then let it roll into the r3hab booty. This ones for the ladies.

128 - 110BPM
Que Que Money (Emoh Instead Edit) - Diplo & Dillon Francis Vs Munchi x Caspa
I love que que, but it was a bit drawn out for my taste, so I've only used the good bits!
Also The "wheres my money" hook gets the kids fist pumping!

128 - 110 - 128BPM
My Dick (SPENDA C & KAYLI Bootleg) - Mickey Avalon
Someones probably already posted this on here.. but i dont care

128 - 110BPM
Simon Pop Pussy (Emoh Instead Edit) - Duke Dumont Vs Pharoahe Monch Vs Sazon Booya
It's all about aggression.

110 - 128BPM
Hey Freak (2Deep & Rawb Personal Bootleg Mix!) - Angger Dimas & Gianni Marino
The most boss edit I've ever heard.

105BPM
21st Century Embody (Emoh Instead Edit) - SebastiAn
Great for an intro, or to break up your set, with some down tempo beats.

BONUS
110BPM
Lip Gloss (Emoh Moomb Edit) 2Deep x MikiX Vs Lil Mama

Diplo & Don Diablo - Make You Pop (Remix Teaser)

This track has been out for well, well over a year now. Its kinda funny that Diplo & Don Diablo now only just decided to do a remix Ep for it. God bless them but haha cause this sneaky little teaser has brought new life to this track. With remixes from Smidgem favourites Trumpdisco, Charlie Darker and a Reprise form themselves... Hold tight!

Diplo - Blow Your Head 8

So the original party starter Diplo is back with his final mixtape installment for Sirius/XM radio. Just as you would expect, its facemelting from start to finish and loaded with the freshest tracks that probably wont be available to the general public for a few months. So my advice is to download this now to see what we'll all be dancing to in the very near future.

I'm Back

Fuck!! Nearly 2 months without internet....I was close to "headin' out califoni way" to get me some internet. But being sans internet is a thing of the past, I would like to thank the other contributors for keeping things going whilst I was out of action, the tunes have been pumping and I've been salivating at the thought of downloading them all. So being that I was out of action for so long The next few weeks are going to be jam packed full of awesomeness. But to start I though I'd post a bit of ear candy seeing as it's been a while.

First up I have to post this because it's downright amazing. Everybody's favourite emo Skrillex did a masterful job turning this track into a screaming Dubstep mind melter. However Congorock have straight up made it one more awesome on the scale of awesomeness. This thing is fucking huge so get the fuck on it...NOW!!!!

Benny Benassi feat. Gary Go - Cinema (Congorock Remix)

Speaking of Skrillex just for a little change I figured I'd share this with you all. Being signed to mau5trap really shines through with this one. It's very Ibiza progressive, complete with female vocals, lovey-dovey synth melodies and major chord stabs. It does definitely show Sonny's versatility as a producer especially after listening to his Sick Bubblegum remix just before it.

All I Ask Of You - Skrillex feat. Penny

Jack Beats have always been a favourite of mine and it seems since gaining notoriety they've been focusing on big well made productions and leaving large intervals between releases. Their latest 'All Night' is no exception to this rule. A fantastic tune and on a side note this is a double A side the other being 'Elevator Music' which is different yet still full of Jack Beats awesomeness.

All Night  - Jack Beats feat. John B

Now what Jack Beats release would be complete without a huge remix from a fellow brit. This time Dubstep messiah Skream takes this tune and 'Dubsteps' the absolute crap out of it.

All Night - Jack Beats (Skream Remix)

Big news of late, Justice have release some new material. Civilization is pretty big. The vocals are fairly awe-inspiring and coupled with that massive signature Justice sound this track is a winner. It also features on the new Adidas ad which I highly suggest you watch.

Justice - Civilization

Onto another artist I haven't heard much of in a while, MSTRKRFT have had a few tracks floating round the blogs recently, their first material since Fist Of God I'm pretty sure so it's been a while. Have a listen.

MSTRKRFT - Back In The USSA

Diplo seems to remix everyone and anyone and he's always experimenting with genres which I love because you seriously never know what he's going to come out with next. Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has been doing some 'solo' stuff lately and I saw that knowing full well he would have an entire production team dedicated to his music, I just can't really see him making it all himself. Anyway Diplo has turned his track 'Can A Drummer Get Some' into a Drumstep-ish tune that's all round bangin'.

Die Antwoord - Evil Boy

Diplo's known for his versatility when it comes to music and this one is no exception. He takes the production reigns on South African Rap/Punk outfit and current 'it' band Die Antwoord's song 'Evil Boy'. This song is super fun and features some awesomely freaky lyrics by the duo. Below is the filmclip to the video which is fuckin' fantastic.

You can pick up the song from iTunes. I highly recommend you do.

Nero, La Sape, Skrillex, Diplo Does Sleigh Bells and More!

I seriously think that 2011 is going to be a huge year for electronic music, it seriously feels like I can't click twice without downloading a song that I absolutely love. So today I have a few songs that I've been feelin' lately...some new and some not so much, none the less gold quality is ensured.

Nero, wow what can I say. I first heard these tracks on their essential mix which I seriously think is up there with the best of all time...yep that's right I'm calling it, right now...BAM! There's something about the tracks this duo makes, they just seem to be so real, full and rich, just really well done I guess. In any case these are my two favourite Nero tunes at the moment and once you download them they are sure to be yours too.

I got this one in the inbox today and she's a doozy. Phoenix, Arizona based production duo La Sape re-worked Light Year's smash hit 5 Girls and let me tell you this thing rocks. A thumping kick and a bassline that will make you crap yourself, what more can you ask for?

I was lucky enough to see Sleigh Bells on their recent Australian tour. They seem to be the 'it' sound right now and I must say I'm certainly liking 'it'. Legend of all thing dance Diplo remixes one of their better songs Tell Em and is fucking fantastic. On a weird note I can hear the sample from the Dooze Jackers & Wes De Graaf song Euh! in the background of the build up not sure if it's the same sample or an actual sample of their song...regardless great song.

Honestly Skrillex just can't do wrong. Everything this guy puts out I fuckin' love and this one is no exception. This one uses a vocal sample throughout that I assume is from one of his earlier works back when he was a fairly prolific singer. Really dig the high end main line in this song super fun stuff for sure.

So Kanye dropped his new album, I'm not going to lie I'm a Kanye fan and most definitely a fan of his new album. Now that's all well and good....then Smidgem favourite and bassline master Figure went and did this. I honestly have had this on repeat for the last 2 hours... it's just so feel good yet so bass-y...ahhh...this is an absolute MUST HAVE just plain huge.

I took the liberty of naming this one...

Beat The Weekend.. part 10

For this edition I thought I would go in a little different direction than the usual electro/thrash/dubstep that usually fills out Beat The Weekend. I basically just raided my 'party beats' playlist so there is a bunch of super fun upbeat tunes than i still listen to on the reg..

Eleanor Rigby

This would have to be one of my all time favourite Beatles tracks. With songs that kind of go under the label 'classic' I generally dont think that they should be remixed as most of the time its always for the worst. However these two mixes break the rules.

4centers have had over 64000 plays on this edit and its not hard to see why.

The Beatles-Eleanor Rigby (4centers Remixx)Wav Download in song Description by Love and Light

This has been around for a while now but is still amazing. I mean c'mon its Soulwax after all

Beat The Weekend.. part 4

Diplo completely reworks Proxy here by adding plenty of acapella's throughout.

This track has an awesome build up. Would be great to drop at anytime through the set.

Djedjotronic lays down some creepy fidget with this one
Ettiene De Crecy - Hope (Djedjotronic Remix)

Dillon delivers the gold with this one. Dubstep madness
Dillon Francis - Take Me High

This would have to be one of my favourite Skream tracks as its a lot darker and heavier than his usual stuff.
Skream - Raw Dogz

Produced by Benga... so you know its gold! This has been getting plenty of play on Triple J, hopefully they can continue by playing more and more dubstep!!

Major Lazer

Diplo, Switch Aka Major Lazer, Now if you didn't know that go back under that rock and save yourself. This is the 10th instalment of the illustrious Mishka Keep Watch mixes The 10th volume features “electro-reggae-dancehall virtuoso and this is definate a must have.

“Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA. His cover is that of a dancehall night club owner from Trinidad and he enlisted the help of long-time allies and uber-producers, Diplo and Switch, to produce his first LP. His true mission is to protect the world from the dark forces of evil that live just under the surface of a civilized society. He fights vampires and various monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket powered skateboard.”

Diplo & Borgore?

Yep apparently this is happening, first Diplo & Tiesto gave us C'mon with Ibiza trance one minute to grindin' bass the next. Now he's teamed up with Dubstep phenom Borgore. This is another low quality preview but it definitely has me salivating for more!

C'MON

Strange combo two completely different producers Diplo & Tiesto teamed up to make this banging track.

Four Floors

First up I've decided to change the blogs main font to Arial....bam there did you see? Now with this new font comes a huge new track from Diplo. A dark and vocal heavy dubstep banger that doesn't have to much 'whup whup whaaa' which I like. The original comes from new UK indie group Sundays Girl, who provide the epic vocals. And with Diplos always amazing drum arrangement this track is just plain HUGE!

The Art Of Revolution

I'm not usually one to post Dubstep but I will make an exception with this track. The one and only Diplo shows his mastery of ethnic drums with an absolute banger of a remix.

Bassnectar - Art Of Revolution (Diplo Remix)

Bonus: Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi and Diplo...GOLD!

Head

It's been a while since I posted however I have been busy and do apologise. On the other hand my line of work allows me the freedom of listening to a lot of music which is just great. So whilst at work with my iPod on shuffle Paranoid Android by Radiohead came on. I just absolutely love this song along with the band. It's pure genius! The song broke musical boundaries with sections in 7/8 time... gaaah that doesn't make sense! Thom Yorke and Radiohead are possibly one of the most musically revolutionary bands to date and I thank them for everything they've done for music as a whole!

Radiohead - Paranoid Android

When Radiohead released 'In Rainbows' they held some remix contests for two tracks off the album so as a bone-ass I thought I would post up my favourite of each...

Radiohead - Nude (Holy Fuck Remix)

Radiohead - Reckoner (Diplo Remix)

Super Bone-ass
Great clip... ooh Parlophone seems to have disabled embedding...jerks! I was going to post the Karma Police video but instead here's two performances from Glastonbury in 2003..truly powerful stuff.
