Beetroots remix Britney

I dont think anyone was ever excpecting the Bloody Beetroots to remix Britney but hey you know what, Justice went there too if that makes you feel any better about it.
Sir Bob pretty much drowned her voice out anyway so dont be worrying about that. All in all its a feel good rave song.

No Brain

Etienne De Crecy has just dropped his latest single 'No Brain'. After hearing this on the floor I'm sure we'd all be walking out a little more braindead. With deep driving electro/tech this reminds me of a Soulwax edit. Its being released with a bunch of remixes by the likes of Nobody Beats The Drum, Serge Santiago, Munk, The Disco Villians and Smidgem favourite Tai.

More Peking Duk

The nice fellas from Peking Duk just sent over their latest tracks all the way from the nations capital. The production work is right on point and they have a great 'jump up' vibe to them. I'm really diggin' 'Style' reminds me of early Bloody Beetroots stuff, with that double bass kick. Last time we did a post on the Duk it started Smidgems biggest 'flame war' with 12 whole comments, let's see if we can get 13!

Peking Duk - Style <----------BAWZ! (yeah that shit has a 'Z')

Peking Duk - To The Bar (Removed by Request)

Bloody Beetroots - Death Crew 77

Following from Lucas's Steve Aoki post i thought everyone would be in the mood for a little Bloody Beetroots.... Death Crew 77 style. Signed to Steve Aoki's Record label Dim Mak the duo.....and now trio have transformed their live act into a live band. The Beetroots formed in early 2006 and have killed it ever since with EP's like Cornelius which fell into the itunes top 100 international downloads in 2008! And I'm sure everyone has heard one of their biggest tracks WARP including warp 1.9, warp 7.7 and my all time favourite warp 1977. Bobby Rifo, Tommy Tea, and the newest member Ed Grinch will be touring down under this year on the warped tour! Stay tuned for the side show. Check out their latest track below!

More Beetroots

Ok so by now everyone has heard of the The Bloody Beetroots, everyone has heard 'Warp' well over a hundred times. So i've gone and dug up some of their older remixes out of my library.
these are all bangers and still dropworthy in any set. Get into em...

Bonus- these are 2 of their own tracks form their recent album Romborama which have been going a little under the radar. Analectus is a fairly aggresive track, where Come la is basically 'awesome' but with the italian Marracash rapping instead of the Cool Kids

The Bloody Beetroots..

It seems like all of a sudden The Bloody Beetroots have exploded into the mainstream. With Warp 1.9 being featured in party playlists alongside Beyonce and Lady GaGa. 1,2 woop woop has become synonymous with the Beetroots however I believe their best stuff came before the release of Romborama and Warp. These are two of my favorite Beetroots songs and they're a few years old, around the time Warp would have been considered hard dance and the only wobble in music was coming from Rolf Harris.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies

I don't know much about Chewy Chocolate Cookies , until today I thought they we Parisian however their MySpace states they are from London.... perhaps they are from both?  I think the first track I got from these guys was over 2 years ago, which means in terms of the new electronic scene they have been around for a while and in that time have remixed so many tracks it's stupid. Recently they have remixed two of the biggest tracks of 2009, Major Lazers Pon De Floor and The Bloody Beetroots Warp 1.9. Their take on Pon De Floor is amazing and really really fun. They sample the A-team theme in the build up then drop it into a heavy charging bassline that makes you want to jump up and down repeatedly. Their Warp remix takes a different direction to most of the other mixes floating around. They sample the 2002 dance anthem At Night by Shakedown. I'm not to sure how I feel about it, seems a little mainroomy/girly however the rest of the song is pretty darn rad and refreshing because every one knows Warp is getting old........ don't you think?
